Modern Times – A Poem
This poem called “Modern Times” was in an anthology called ‘Collected Whispers’ which was published in America by the International Library Of Poetry in 2008. I’m very proud of this one.

The mother worked
and the unemployed father
took the eldest child
to school each day.
He saw his isolation
reflected in the child.
She said,
with non-understanding bitterness,
that none of her school friends
ever came ‘round to play
anymore.
